đ§ Imagineering, Postman & Github for Marketing (Founder's Compass)
Hello there and welcome to Founder's Compass, a good way to get oriented around the labyrinthian world of startups.
Tool(s) of the week: Postman
If youâre serious about building (even if by âvibe codingâ), youâll be using all sorts of APIâs. When using APIâs, you need a fast way to test them and an even better way to document them.
Thatâs where Postman comes in. Simple, yet very effective, Postman allows you to test whatever API youâve built to make sure the response, content and headers are all in the right places :) Couple that with a badass documentation tool to keep track of what youâve built and how to use it, and youâve got yourself the start of your âHow to guideâ for any future devs taking over.
Video of the week: Imagineering at Disney
The wet dream of any geek is to see how the magic is done. And who is better at magic than Disney? Cleo Abrams takes a in-depth tour of Disneyâs Imagineering department and takes us on a wild ride of how the most advanced âmagicâ in the world is being built. (P.S: the coolest part is how the lightsaber works)
Top 5 stories of the week
âEngineers will ultimately implement your design system, so your first step should be talking to them. Find out if thereâs already a component library, existing guidelines, or reusable styles you can build on. Engineering teams often prefer frameworks or tools that can save you a lot of time. You also need to know what is feasible and how long it may take to build it; you need to check how components and guidelines will be delivered and documented.â
âJust like icon design, typography, or card design, form design is an important aspect of UI design with its own rules, guiding principles, and best practices. It considers the structure, layout, and content of the form â ensuring itâs optimized for the context, the user, and the task they want to complete.â
âSoftware is rapidly becoming a commodity by enabling literally anyone to create an app. And complex software will be 100x easier to build and maintain.
As the barrier to entry and time required to build applications goes to zero, we will have an explosion of software available to us. Not only will we have LOTS more options, but the âbuild vs buyâ debate will continue to tip towards build internally (at least for more simple applications).â
âIronically, one investor who wished to not be named cited frustration with AI-generated founder cold outreach, telling TechCrunch: âItâs so much that itâs drowning out all the genuine outreach. I can tell itâs AI-generated because I get dozens with the same structure, but different words and there are always some weird inaccuracies. Itâs just going to burn all written outreach as a channel to reach new people.ââ
âDespite all its promise, however, Ozempic does come with a range of side effects. These can range from relatively mild symptoms like nausea, diarrhea and dizziness to more serious effects like gallbladder disease, hypoglycemia, and pancreatitis. The drug has even been linked to suicidal ideation and up to a sevenfold increase in a rare form of blindness known as an "eye stroke.""

Weâve selected the 5 companies to participate in Batch #13 of ReaktorX. Weâll announce the teams this week as soon as they sign the acceleration agreement. Watch our social media channels closely for newsâŚ
Startup idea of the week: Github for Marketing
Problem:
Marketing collaboration is chaotic. Teams juggle scattered files, endless email chains, and lack a clear version history for campaigns. Coordinating ad copy, creative assets, and strategy changes is inefficient, leading to lost ideas and inconsistent messaging. Meanwhile, in software development, version control tools like GitHub have solved this problemâbut marketing still lags behind.
Solution:
A collaborative marketing repository where teams can store, version control, and work together on campaigns, assets, and strategiesâjust like GitHub, but for marketing.
How It Works:
Teams create repositories for campaigns, storing ad copy, creative assets, strategies, and analytics in one place.
Version control enables teams to track changes, test variations, and merge the best-performing ones.
Collaboration features allow users to assign tasks, comment on assets, request approvals, and automate workflows.
AI-driven insights provide recommendations on ad copy, audience targeting, and campaign improvements based on past performance.
Benefits:
âď¸ Eliminates versioning chaosâno more lost files or conflicting edits.
âď¸ Encourages experimentation with structured A/B testing and performance tracking.
âď¸ Speeds up collaboration with built-in approval workflows and task management.
âď¸ AI-powered recommendations optimize ad performance and strategy.
Go-to-market:
Target mid-to-large marketing teams, agencies, and brand strategists.
Offer a freemium SaaS model, with premium features for versioning, automation, and AI insights.
Integrate with existing MarTech tools like HubSpot, Google Ads, and Canva to ease adoption.
Challenges:
High development complexityârequires a strong engineering team or early fundraising.
Adoption frictionâmarketers may resist adopting a GitHub-like workflow.
Competitive landscapeâmany marketing collaboration tools exist, so differentiation is key.
Stick close for the next one.
